Young Minds Unite: JMC Psychology Students Lead Impactful Autism Awareness Initiative

The Department of Psychology, Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), in collaboration with Soul House Academy, Chichuyimpang, Mokokchung, Observed World Autism Awareness Day 2026 with a heartfelt and student-led programme centred on the theme “Autism and Humanity.”
The event was graced by the presence of Soul House Academy’s Principal and Administrator, Ms. Arenla Lemtur, who warmly welcomed the JMC delegation and commended the department for its hands-on and meaningful approach to community engagement.
The programme, conceptualised and conducted entirely by psychology students of JMC, unfolded smoothly with a series of engaging activities tailored especially for the children of Soul House Academy. From role play to group songs, each segment was thoughtfully designed to foster awareness, interaction, and a sense of inclusion.
As a gesture of commemoration, the department also presented Soul House Academy with a gift a Two piece art paintings symbolising the beauty and depth of every unique mind.
The initiative concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the importance of collaboration, empathy, and continued efforts towards building a more inclusive society. It served as a valuable experiential platform for students to apply their learning beyond the classroom and make a tangible difference in their community.
